When someone dies
The death of loved-one can be a traumatic experience. Even when a death is expected, you will still feel a sense of shock and experience a mixture of emotions and questions. You may feel overwhelmed by what needs to be done and the many questions there are to answer and decisions to be made.
Our many years of experience in Funeral Services in East Sussex and Kent, mean that we are well-placed to support you at this difficult time and the fact that we are independent gives us the flexibility to create a funeral which best reflects
Call us 24 Hours a day
When your loved one has died, you are welcome to call us at any time of the day or night, as we are available to take your call 24/7. That said, there isn’t an immediate need to make that phone call; if your loved one has died at home, then you might want some time to reflect quietly first.
We will organise for your loved one to be collected – whether that’s from the family home or perhaps a hospital – and brought back to our care at Tester & Jones. During the time that they are with us, we will look after them with the utmost dignity and care.
We have a dedicated Chapel of Rest here where you can arrange to spend time with your loved one if you’d like.
Help with practical issues
Here at Tester & Jones we are here to help and shoulder some of the burden for you - particularly when it comes to practical issues. There will be a number of people who will need to be contacted. We can support you through this time, making sure that all those essential calls are made. You will need to register the death and there are various other forms which will need to be signed ahead of planning the funeral, but we can advise you on this.
From that first telephone call to the day of the funeral itself, we will be by your side.
Visit our Funeral Planning section for more information on the days of the funeral itself.
