While our office is based in Crowborough, we are often called upon to conduct services a little further afield too, including our neighbouring villages, such as Groombridge, Rotherfield and Mayfield. Recently we have also supported families with funeral services down on the coast, including Hastings and Eastbourne.
We are also able to support a funeral of somebody who has died a distance away. Up until Covid-19 struck, we would occasionally help families with loved ones who have died abroad – either sadly while on holiday or perhaps during a period of working overseas. While the local Embassy will usually provide on the ground support, we are always ready to answer the questions we can and be ready to receive the body when it arrives back in the UK.
Of course, for many people, Crowborough will always be their home – wherever they might be living. Even when they’ve moved away, we find that folk have left instructions that they would like their funeral to be conducted in the town and we are ready to make that happen for them.
Sometimes people move to care homes away from here to be near relatives. Again, when they sadly die, it is possible to have their funeral services in Crowborough. In an example like this, we will simply liaise with the care home and the family in the same way we would if they had passed away here in Crowborough.
