Protection and reassurance for bereaved families

When someone we love dies, there are many decisions to make at a time when we will likely be feeling overwhelmed and emotional. Choosing a funeral director can feel like a huge decision and families deserve to feel reassured that their loved one is being cared for with the dignity and respect they deserve.

That is why Tester & Jones Funeral Services is fully behind the Government’s announcement that it intends to introduce formal regulation of the funeral profession in England and Wales. As a long-time member of our industry association, SAIF, we are proud that the organisation was heavily involved in the development of regulations that now exist in both Scotland and Northern Ireland. We believe families should have the reassurance that there is clear regulation in place in our industry.

The Department of Health and Social Care will now consider how formal regulation could be introduced while, at the same time, the Law Commission is looking at whether the laws protecting those who have died are strong enough.
