We are proud to be one of the sponsors of this year’s Mayfield Festival of Music and Arts. This biennial event takes place in April and May in Mayfield and is primarily devoted to classical music. The Festival was originally founded in 1970 by Kenneth Pont, the then director of music at St Dunstan’s Parish Church.
Over the years, programmes have included performances by names such as James Galway, Evelyn Glennie, Victoria de los Angeles, Dame Janet Baker and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. The 2022 festival will include a recital by concert pianist, conductor and composer Joanna MacGregor CBE.
Tester & Jones is supporting a concert on Monday 25 April at St Dunstan’s which features music from Mozart, Schubert and Grainger, performed by the Primavera Chamber Ensemble. The pieces featured are Grainger Handel in the Strand, Mozart Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Schubert Piano Quintet in A Major D 667 ‘The Trout’.
Primavera’s name is based on the Italian word for spring, reflecting the joie de vivre that the ensemble’s musicians always bring to their performances. As one of Britain’s finest ensembles, Primavera has created an enviable reputation playing through the UK, as well as Europe. They have made regular appearances on the South Bank and at London’s Wigmore Hall.
