Kim Eastwood joined our team here at Tester & Jones in November as a Funeral Arranger, having previously worked at the Kent & Sussex Crematorium in Tunbridge Wells as a Bereavement Assistant.
“When I went to work at the Crematorium, the bereavement industry was completely new to me and really very different from what I had done before,” she says. “Although I used my administrative skills at the Kent & Sussex, my role also involved learning to arrange and attend interments and burials for families, along with organising memorial plaques.”
Now at Tester & Jones, Kim says she appreciates the opportunity to help families and learn a different aspect of the bereavement industry.
“Families come to us at their lowest ebb and we are there to help them, guiding them through the process and shouldering some of the responsibility,” she says. “Walking through our door for the first time is a big step for many people, particularly if this is their first funeral. Every family is individual and we assist them in creating and preparing the service for their loved one. We pride ourselves on being welcoming, friendly and caring”.
Having dealt with Tester & Jones in her previous role, Kim says she already knew of the firm’s excellent reputation.
“They were always organised when it came to sending us everything we needed,” she explains. “Now I am working here, it’s even more apparent how well-regarded Tester & Jones is in providing a high-quality service for our clients. Nothing is too much trouble”.
When she’s not at work, Kim has a variety of hobbies including going to the gym, walking, reading, meeting with friends and enjoying cross stitch and diamond art (a form of mosaic art using shiny resins). She also has an interest in alternative therapies and is a Reiki practitioner.
