Still supporting each other
One of the things we are most proud of since Tester & Jones was established is the ongoing support given to family and close friends through our Bereavement Group. We know how much our members look forward to their monthly get-togethers and we appreciate that these are being missed at the moment, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As one of our members, Brenda, said in the past: “If it wasn’t for the Bereavement Group, there are some members who possibly might not go out socially. I think we’ve all become a little stronger, more independent and more confident as a result of the Bereavement Group.”
We are aware that not having our Bereavement Group meetings in the diary and having to be alone at home will be putting a great burden on many of our members. We are thankful that some really strong friendships have developed through the group over the years, so that many members are keeping in touch by telephone and online for a chat.
For those on Facebook, we have set up a private group and this is proving popular with some lovely posts and people checking in with each other.
If you are a Bereavement Group member who is struggling at the moment, then please do get in touch and we’ll ask Glenys or Sue to call you back. In addition, we can point you in the direction of more help if you need it, including access to SAIFCare.
We do hope that it won’t be long until we are all together again, sharing a cup of tea and friendship.
